Diono Quantum Stroller: Our 5-Month Review

It’s been 5 months and in that time we’ve taken countless walks through slush, snow, rain and ice. Today’s post is all about how our Diono Quantum Stroller stood up to our Canadian weather.

It’s finally spring which means warmer temperatures and longer walks. For me, I’m breathing a sigh of relief that I can actually enjoy these walks with Knox and not have to wrap it up early because of nearly freezing to death! That being said, during the winter and early spring, I still made an effort to head out and brave the cold – mainly for my sanity but also for Knox to enjoy fresh air and for him to get a good nap in. I have to say, thanks to our Diono Quantum Stroller, I was able to push through snow, slush and ice (and sometimes all together).

The Convenience

First off, the folding and unfolding of the stroller was easy and light. I could literally have everything ready to go within seconds and it fit easily in the back of our trunk along with groceries and other items. This was important for me, especially on days when it was so cold where the last thing you wanted to do was fidget around with collapsing a stroller.

The snapping of the car seat in and out of the stroller was also a sinch and very convenient for me when running errands. I didn’t have to worry about transferring Knox from the car seat to the bassinet and back again. I could just use the car seat and with one click, the car seat would fit right in and we’d be on our way!

I also loved the big basket for when we would walk to the grocery store and I needed extra storage to stow away the groceries I picked up – the large basket fit all my items and if I had an extra bag or two, I could easily hang it around the cupholder.

The Durability

With all the crazy weather we were thrown at this year, we really got the chance to put the Diono Quantum Stroller to the test. Right after snowfalls (even before the sidewalks were thoroughly ploughed) Knox and I would be outside pushing through the snow. Even in messy parking lots with tons of slush and ice, our stroller would cut right through it all.  I would love to point out that at no time did anything get damaged or wet in our basket underneath! I really felt that this stroller’s quality and performance lived up to what it said it could do. Looking at our stroller now, with the amount of folding and unfolding, the snow, the rain, the mud and everything between – it still looks brand new!

The Comfort

If you’ve been following along in my stories, then you already know our struggles with daytime naps. The bassinet attachment to the stroller has been my saving grace for Knox to get a good nap in during the day. Almost immediately, Knox falls asleep and because of the zip up top and the hood that pulls over, the wind is blocked out and Knox stays warm. Another plus, when Knox wakes up, I can lift the top up so he can see out through a wind-resistant window.

Overall, this stroller has kept up with our busy lives and all the crazy weather that’s been thrown at us! Not only is it stylish, but its durability and ease of use have held up to our high standards and our winter which makes this a winner in our books!
