Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil Acne Line

My skin is doing all the talking today with Thursday Plantation’s Tea Tree line.

Recently, I’ve heard more and more girls speaking out about their adolescent acne making an unsightly appearance in their not-so-adolescent age. I’m talking girls (or women) in their late 20’s to early 30’s developing acne and rosacea. Now just to rewind a few years back, I was your annoying 17-year-old who never had a pimple, just perfect, flawless skin until I turned 22. Out of nowhere, I was hit with rosacea and annoying pimples that were causing scars. I tried everything, from birth control to Accutane. Thankfully, the Accutane did cure up my acne woes and I felt like I had conquered those pesky poppers until recently.

Now, it’s not as bad but at 29, you’d think you’d be off the acne train by now. I promised myself I wouldn’t go back to Accutane so I was desperate to find a product line that would work. I was willing to spend what was needed just as long as someone could promise me it would get rid of my acne. From $25 to $50, all the acne-fighting skin care I could get my hands on didn’t seem work.

So there I was, just accepting the fact that I was going to have put up with acne in my adult years. But up until recently, I was given the opportunity to try Thursday Plantation’s Tea Tree line. I was willing to give this line an honest try to see if anything changed.

Now that this product has been fairly tested, I feel comfortable enough to provide you with my honest feedback of Thursday Plantation’s Tea Tree Oil Acne line.

Thursday Plantation's Acne line, 3 steps

First off, as someone who has a serious OCD issue, order and instructions are what I live by. I really liked the step-by-step process printed clearly on the bottles so I knew what to use first.

Entire line of Thursday Plantation

Step 1: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Wash Foam

Benefits:

  • Made with chamomile to help soothe redness
  • Free from petrochemicals, parabens, mineral oils, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, etc..
  • Benzoyl peroxide free

Step 1

This refreshing foam pumps out oh-so-effortlessly and gently removes excess dirt and makeup without drying out my face. I like this cleanser compared to other face washes because it didn’t leave my skin feeling completely dried out. And, since there is no Benzoyl Peroxide in the cleanser, it didn’t feel harsh or leave my skin looking red and blotchy. In fact, one of the ingredients in the foam is chamomile which helps reduce redness.

Step 2: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Toner

Benefits:

  • Tightens pores
  • Improves skin’s appearance overall
  • Alcohol-free

Step 2

To use, I just dropped a little bit of the toner onto a cotton ball and gently dabbed it across my face. I felt this toner helped clean up any areas of makeup I missed. I also love the ingredients such as aloe vera and calming lavender, again, great for avoiding irritation on sensitive skin.

Step. 3: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Cream

Benefits:

  • Includes macadamia oil, rose hip oil, Vitamin E and shea butter
  • Free from petrochemicals, parabens, mineral oils, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, etc..

Step 3

Made with rose hip oil and Vitamin E, this face cream feels light and goes on light. I do find it takes a few minutes for the cream to soak into your skin. So at first, it is streaky on your face but it does get absorbed. I find this cream still leaves your skin feeling a little tight but in a few minutes the natural oils from your face seem to loosen up the skin.

Optional: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Medicated Gel for Acne

Benefits:

  • Free from benzoyl peroxide
  • Free from petrochemicals, parabens, mineral oils, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, etc..

Acne medicated gel

This clear gel penetrates into the acne to help dry out your pimples. I use this gel once I’ve finished steps 1 through 3. I just use about half a pea-size on my finger and dab over all the problem areas. It doesn’t sting or leaves any redness. In fact, it absorbs very quickly, even right after the cream has been absorbed too.

Tea Tree Oil Sheet Mask

I was given a dry mask along with tea tree oil to use as a face mask. The instructions were pretty straightforward. Just use 1/4 cup of distilled water, add honey and mix well. Add 4 to 5 drops of the pure tea tree oil and submerge the dry mask into the solution. Apply the mask to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. What I love most about this mask is its ability to be reused. I just rinse it clean and set to dry flat. I didn’t find this cleared up much of my acne. But I do like the tea tree oil for other purposes like mosquito bites and cuts.

My thoughts:

I have tried tea tree oil based products before but have never had any luck. This line of skin care products did help with some of my acne. I found that it took a few weeks (2 to 3 weeks) to notice results but the frequency of the pimples and the severity of them have decreased noticeably.

I will continue to use the product and like that the entire line is 100% tea tree oil and free of benzoyl peroxide which is harmful to our skin. Nobody enjoys adult acne, and it feels like the more makeup we try to cover our imperfections with, the worse the acne gets. I recommend trying this product, every day, twice a day. Understandably, everyone’s’ skin is unique, but for anyone else out there that has tried everything, I encourage you to try this product.

Another benefit, this product is inexpensive and easy to find.  Each bottle retails under $20 and is sold at Walmart, Loblaws, Superstore, Rexall, well.ca and otherNaturall Food Stores as well.

If you’ve had a chance to try this face line, let me know your thoughts. Or, if you have adult acne, let me know what products have worked for you.
