Go bananas over chocolate

DSC_0438_R1Kick those cravings to the curb with this healthy snack that satisfies all.

Craving chocolate all to often? Need something to fulfill those sugar cravings?  You’ve come to the right place!

I found the perfect solution to satisfy my cravings and keep my late night junk food eating to a minimum. This 3-ingredient recipe is quick and easy to make and best of all? It lasts in your freezer so you can take one or two and pop them back in whenever you want more.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 semi-ripe banana
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp of margarin/butter or coconut oil (any of these 3 taste great)

Cut your bananas into thin slices, preferably bite-size pieces.

Take a cookie tray and line it with parchment paper. Place your banana slices onto the tray and pop those in the freezer for about an hour. Before you take them out of the freezer, warm up your chocolate chips and margarin in a microwavable bowl. Microwave for 1 minute and stir in between. Don’t overcook your chocolate!

Once the chocolate has melted, take your bananas out of the freezer and start dipping them in the chocolate. I like to use a fork to lift them out. Shake any access chocolate off but make sure they are entirely coated. Place each banana slice back on the parchment paper on your tray. Once all slices are dipped, use your left over chocolate to fill any areas of the bananas you missed. Pop those back in the freezer for 20 minutes or so.  Take them out of the freezer and enjoy!
